Position Summary:

BioStem Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager. The successful candidate is creative and adept at problem solving, with the ability to thrive in a "get it done" type of environment. (S)he has good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.

The Accounting Manager oversees accounting activities, including accounts receivable and cash receipts, accounts payable, cash disbursements, and month-end accounting close activities. The role maintains the general ledger, prepares for the year-end audit, and prepares for timely and accurate financial reporting.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


•Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.

•Managing the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all monthly close tasks including completion and/or review of balance sheet account reconciliations.

•Timely production of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements, ensuring the quality of the company books

•Develop and maintain an internal control environment focused on establishing and maintaining formal accounting policies, practices, and procedures to ensure US and local GAAP compliance.

•Monitor business performance and cash flow/projections.

•Support strategic planning through financial planning and analysis responsibilities.

•Maintain a stable relationship with outsourced vendors and monitor trends and variances in their performance.

•Work with the accounting team to ensure all relevant monthly close, accounting and tax deadlines and regulations are satisfied

Requirements

•BS/BA in Accounting/Finance or a related field with solid month end closing experience.

•CPA Preferred

•SEC reporting experience preferred.

•5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

•Experience working in start-up environments is preferred; the individual should be able to work towards tight deadlines and changing requests.

•Work cross-functionally on ad hoc projects and process improvement

•Experience using NetSuite preferred.
