Compensation:

• Starting pay rate is a $21.89- paid weekly!

JOB DESCRIPTION : The primary function of the Boiler & Compressor Operator is to maintain and operate the Boiler House, Well Pumps and related systems within the facility in compliance with all Pactiv, State and Federal policies, procedures and standards and to assist the Environmental Systems Operator for the continuous uninterrupted operation of related environmental systems.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Operate complete Boiler and related equipment and associated facilities.
• Operate the water supply systems including well sourced and publicly sourced water.
• Operate plant compressed air systems.
• Monitor plant fire suppression systems.
• Be accountable and responsible for providing uninterrupted operation of the Boiler systems.
• Insuring that the facilities are operated in compliance with State, Federal and Corporate policies.
• Assist ESO as needed to perform certain safety and efficiency of tasks in the department.
• Maintain and update all equipment operations manuals and materials as required.
• Conduct water chemistry analysis and maintain optimal efficiency conditions.
• Record data and maintain proper recordkeeping.
• Maintain problem/countermeasure lists and solve problems to the root cause.
• Assist continuous improvement efforts.
• Minium 5 years of experience with complex systems and/or the industrial sector
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and highly safety-conscious

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL REQUIRED:

• This position requires a minimum of a high school education.

PREFERRED:

• Proficiency in computerized maintenance management system

Pactiv Evergreen Grottoes facility is located in the Shenandoah Valley, VA. The address is 149 Caverns Blvd., Grottoes, VA 22441. The plant was built in 1930, with new additions constructed from 1956-1990. With a workforce of approximately 200 employees working on 12 hours rotating shifts, Grottoes plant manufactures food grade plastic film, oven bags, industrial shrink wrap, and bacon boards. Grottoes facility has received the following awards and recognitions: Plant of the Year Award in 2010, Environmental Performer of the Year 2017 and Safety Performer of the Year 2017
