Job Description The Maintenance Specialist provides business and strategic oversight for facilities, special projects, and building/laboratory support systems. They oversee personnel assigned to the department, direct vendors, and contractors, and offer technical advice to other departments. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, they also communicate with corporate team members on relevant issues and duties.
Education and experience: Required: - Plumbing experience; troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing equipment/system
- Strong Customer Service, Time Management and Problem Solving skills
- Solid Computer Skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 years applicable maintenance experience
OR
- Technical/mechanical certification or diploma in Maintenance or Plumbing, and 3+ years applicable maintenance experience
Beneficial (Not required) - EPM, Water System or Steam System experience
Facilities Maintenance and renovation of the following: - Plumbing
- EPM as needed
- Reverse osmosis and de-ionization water systems
- Steam systems, facility electrical and emergency electrical system
- Facility water supply, climate control and distribution systems
- Monitor, plan, and direct projects as assigned; aligning with contractors, vendors and assigned employees as needed
Physical requirements: Must be able to climb, kneel, stand, balance, crouch, stoop, reach, push, grasp, vision-correctible (with visual acuity-e.g. color, depth perception and field of vision), walk, lift, have tactile sense, hear, communicate and be able to perform repetitive motions. Must be able to exert up to 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
