Job Description:

As an HVAC Brazer/Piping Installer, you play a pivotal role in the installation, maintenance, and optimization of various piping systems, including gas, steam, HVAC, and refrigeration. Your responsibilities span from blueprint interpretation to hands-on pipefitting techniques, ensuring the integrity and functionality of piping installations. A key aspect of this role involves troubleshooting, testing, and conducting preventative maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pipe Installation: Install and maintain diverse piping systems, including gas, steam, HVAC systems, and refrigeration (copper), adhering to project specifications.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints to determine piping system layout and requirements.
  • Brazing Techniques: Demonstrate proficiency in brazing techniques using an oxygen/acetylene torch.
  • Verification and Correction: Verify compliance and functionality of installations, making necessary corrections.
  • Troubleshoot and Testing: Troubleshoot and test equipment, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and testing on plumbing and mechanical systems.
  • Mechanical Piping Knowledge: Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of mechanical piping theory, refrigeration, hot water, chilled water, and drain piping systems.
  • Pipefitting Techniques: Utilize pipefitting techniques such as brazing, soldering, pressing, and threading.
  • Testing and Inspections: Conduct pressure tests and inspections to ensure the safety of piping systems.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Execute repairs and maintenance on existing piping systems.
  • Alignment and Positioning: Align and position pipes to ensure proper connections and support structures.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, always promoting a safe work environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed, materials used, and any changes to plans.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that pipe installations meet quality standards and project specifications.

Education and Experience Requirements :

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical concepts and principles.
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
  • Comfort and proficiency in using hand tools and equipment for piping work.
  • Ability to work safely on ladders and staging when required.
  • General safety knowledge and awareness in a workplace setting.
  • Eligibility and authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
