The Oklahoma City Thunder is seeking a college student to join our team of creative professionals. As an intern, you will gain firsthand experience with ThunderVision, as you learn about productions, editing, and camera work. This internship gives students the opportunity to learn skills relevant to a future career in the sports, broadcasting, and entertainment industries through your development cross-departmental relationships during the execution of project requests.
Fall internships begin August 19, 2024. Our internship program provides practical work experience in a professional environment as well as supplemental program activities such as resume reviews, personal and professional development workshops and other events crafted to enrich the internship experience. We also offer perks such as paid downtown parking and tickets to a home game during the season!
In this role you will: - Edit and create professional projects with Avid
- Build quality graphics using Photoshop/After Effects
- Maintain the integrity of footage logs and organize and maintain digital archiving system
- Shadow ThunderVision personnel during select home games
- Learn proper camera techniques using Panasonic Lumix GH4, Sony FS7, Sony a7iii, and various other cameras
- Perform occasional office and administrative duties designed to show full cycle department processes
- Participate in company-scheduled internship program activities
What you'll bring to the role: - Presently enrolled in an accredited college or university and approved by your school to receive course credit for the internship
- Students pursuing a degree in broadcasting, video production, marketing or motion graphics preferred
- Excellent communication and listening skills and the ability to communicate content across platforms: print, web, audio, video
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
- Some experience with Sony XD and FS7, P2 and DSLR cameras is preferred but not required
- Avid, Photoshop and After Effects experience is a bonus
- Knowledge of control room equipment such as Ross XPression, Click FX, Evertz DreamCatcher is a plus
- Outgoing personality with the confidence to approach fans or crowd members with enthusiasm and tact
Additional Details: Work schedule will include approximately 20 hours a week consisting mainly of daytime office hours. Primary work location will be at Paycom Center located in downtown Oklahoma City. Physical requirements of the job include lifting and carrying camera equipment weighing approximately 30 pounds and working in-arena in the presence of loud music and crowd noise and flashing or strobe lighting. This internship position does not provide housing. This is a paid part-time, non-exempt internship reporting to the Video Production Manager. Employees are encouraged to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
