Job Description

We are seeking a talented and creative Product Designer with a proven track record in both mobile application design and web application design to join our fast-growing tech startup. As a Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience and visual identity of our financial wellness platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to design intuitive and engaging user interfaces and experiences that align with our mission of spreading financial literacy and promoting positive behavior change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • User-Centric Design: Lead the user-centered design process to understand user needs, pain points, and behavior patterns. Translate these insights into innovative and user-friendly designs that improve the overall user experience.
  • Mobile and Web Application Design: Demonstrate expertise in both mobile application design and web application design, delivering exceptional user experiences across various devices and platforms.
  • Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and design mockups to communicate design concepts and gather feedback from stakeholders and users.
  • Visual Design: Develop visually appealing and consistent user interfaces that align with our brand identity and create a delightful user experience.
  • Design System: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a design system that ensures consistency and efficiency across our product portfolio.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ideate, iterate, and deliver high-quality design solutions that meet user needs and business objectives.
  • User Testing: Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to iterate on designs and make data-driven design decisions.
  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, and incorporate best practices into our design process.
  • Accessibility: Advocate for and implement accessible design practices to ensure that our products are inclusive and usable by all users.

Requirements:

  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your design expertise, user-centric approach, and ability to solve complex design challenges for both mobile and web applications.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in product design or related roles, with a demonstrable track record in both mobile and web application design, preferably in a tech startup or digital product development environment.
  • Design Tools: Must have an expert level of proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or other relevant design software for both mobile and web platforms.
  • User-Centered Design: Demonstrated experience in user-centered design methodologies, usability principles, and design thinking for mobile and web applications.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to design intuitive and innovative solutions.
  • Financial Literacy: An understanding of financial wellness concepts or a willingness to learn about the financial education industry.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree: A degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

The Company:

We are fast-growing, pioneering financial wellness start-up that invests heavily in the growth and development of its team members. As a financial education company, we provide a turn-key collaborative money mentorship solution that’s derived from the belief that our financial mentors are the last great hope for educating the working population on healthy money habits and positive behavior change. We seek to spread financial literacy by creating custom programs tailored to organizational need that ease monetary stress and equip employees with how to plan for their future.
