Senior Accountant – Manufacturing Experience Required

Salary: $75k-$90k

SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and supervising key accounting functions within the manufacturing sector. This role involves overseeing the accounting staff, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, and guiding the monthly close cycle. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller to review financial statements, prepare reports for senior management, and develop accounting policies and procedures. Expertise in manufacturing accounting practices is essential for this role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the Controller to manage the monthly and quarterly accounting close cycle.
• Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and reporting packages.
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all financial reports.
• Prepare and present detailed financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Supervise the monthly reconciliation of books and perform detailed account reviews; prepare and present monthly financial statements.
• Schedule and lead monthly reviews with Project Management, ensuring accurate tracking of manufacturing and project costs.
• Work with Commercial Finance to analyze and report on actual versus budgeted costs and margins for all manufacturing projects and products.
• Coordinate and support the annual independent audit and the preparation of annual tax documents.
• Research accounting guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP for all transactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directly supervise 1 employee/contractor within the Accounting department.
• Indirectly supervise 2 employees within the Administrative department.
• Exercise supervisory responsibilities in line with organizational policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting.
• Five to ten years of experience in accounting within the manufacturing industry.
• Active CPA license preferred.(not required)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; adept at managing priorities and workflow.
• Flexible and versatile, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Proven leadership and business acumen.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint.
