Play a crucial role in managing and implementing telecommunications and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) services across a federal agency's facilities. Bring your expertise in VoIP and VTC technologies, with a focus on Avaya Communication Manager PBX systems and Polycom VTC equipment. Exercise your expertise in voice and video systems to manage operations efficiently, ensure compliance with service standards, and handle system updates in a flexible, autonomous work environment that values and enhances your skills. Work in a small team of technical and program support consultants for a large federal agency.

Responsibilities
  • Telecommunications Management:
    • Oversee the Avaya Aura Communication Manager for voice services at designated locations.
    • Manage voicemail systems, add/remove users, and ensure optimal system performance.
    • Conduct site surveys, design voice networks, and develop long-range telecommunication plans.
    • Interface with maintenance providers to monitor and implement system updates and upgrades.
  • Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Support:
    • Administer and support the enterprise-wide deployment of Polycom VTC systems.
    • Coordinate the management and ordering of VTC services across agency.
    • Provide technical support for the ongoing support of VTC hardware and software.
  • System Administration:
    • Maintain compliance with SLAs and security protocols.
    • Perform system tuning, monitoring, and management of user roles.
    • Document processes and configurations, manage patches, and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Training and Support:
    • Develop and distribute training materials for end-users on new systems and features.
    • Provide tiered support (Tier 1/2/3) for telecommunication and VTC issues.
  • Project and Change Management:
    • Actively manage change functions and requirements for telecommunications and VTC systems.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of transition plans for new technology adoption.
Qualifications - Required
  • Bachelor's in computer science, Engineering, Technology or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related technical experience in supporting Information Technology environment at the server/data center level.
  • Proficiency with Avaya Communication Manager PBX, Polycom VTC systems, and general network management.
Qualifications - Highly Desired
  • Relevant certifications in Avaya, Polycom, or other telecommunications/VTC technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, strong communication skills, and experience in a leadership role.
Compensation
  • $127,000-$135,000/yr, based on capability and experience
